I’ve always had a passion for helping people lose weight, herbal medicine, and healing people through food.

My Health Journey

At age 12, I attended my first weight watchers meeting after going to sleep-away camp for the summer and losing 15 pounds. I remember telling my mom that I do not want to put back on this weight. I fell in love with the weight watchers program, I liked counting my points and figuring out how many calories were in something. A few years later, my sister came to me and asked me if I could help her lose weight. & she lost 15 pounds with my guidance and recommendations. This was when my passion for health began. 

Later on, my dad was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and instead of going on a pill he looked into many diets and started following the Atkins diet.

I followed a similar diet and found different ways to adapt the diet to work best for my health and body weight.

Shortly after that I went to a homeopathic doctor, who told me I should only be eating fruits and vegetables to cleanse and detox my body. I quickly realized that this diet wasn’t working for me and went on to study at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition…

The Institute of Integrative Nutrition course reaffirmed my belief in Bio-individuality. Bio-individuality states “there is not a one-size-fits-all diet, each person is a unique individual with highly individualized nutritional requirements.

My background working in nutrition counseling and trying every diet myself has shaped the Alexa planmydiet program. I love sharing healthy recipes, weight loss tips & fitness tips through alexa planmydiet.
